Chicago Riverwalk Engagement Session in Chicago, IL | Karen and Kyle

While I cannot say that any couple of happy about Covid-19 ruining their wedding plans this year, I can say that I am stoked I got a chance to hang out with Karen and Kyle (and Mason!) because of it. While originally getting married at the Tabor Hill Winery & Restaurant in Buchanan, MI this spring, they had to jump ahead a little bit to now getting married next summer. This sucks for all parties involved, but the silver lining definitely comes from us getting to squeeze in an engagement session that otherwise wouldn’t have happened!

  Karen and Kyle live in Chicago, IL and chose their local neighborhood to start their engagement session out, for none other then their adorable Husky mix Mason. Mason gets a little excited around new people, so it proved best to keep him around his stomping grounds! Afterwards, we drove down to the Chicago Riverwalk in Chicago, IL; to get the skyline views that these two live in Chicago for! Built alongside the Chicago River, the Chicago Riverwalk is home to not only incredible restaurants, but parks, residential areas, and architectural wonders. To see all these things, you can not only walk along the 1.25 mile long route, but also kayak, riverboat, or paddle board.   

The Chicago Riverwalk is honestly my favorite part of Chicago as well, and the part that keeps me longing for this beautiful city whenever I am gone. It was just a joy getting to capture the city lights at dusk, and photograph Karen and Kyle in the same location where Kyle proposed! Kyle claims that be planned to be at the iconic 1930’s Merchandise Mart as their nightly projection show occurred, to backdrop his incredible proposal. Whether it is true or not remains to be seen, but it made for an amazing spot to recreate that moment.   

While it sucks having to wait for their wedding to occur, I am so excited to finally see these two tie the knot, and in the meantime, continue to watch their adventures around the city!
