I want to keep my words short, since Erika and Peter wrote the most beautiful write-up for them being published in Something Turquoise! These two had the most unique Do It Yourself (DIY) wedding at a families residence in Santa Cruz, Ca. Between ordering the flowers online from Hawaii to create their arch and bouquets, or staying up all night creating hand waxed place setting- everything about this wedding was straight out of Erika and Peter’s dreams. It was such an amazing experience to get to photograph their wedding day and see everything we had talked about to come to fruition. I took some of their quotes and added them to their photos below, and it’s so beautiful to read about their day.Read More
Chicago skyline, snow, and a puppy equal basically all of my favorite things. Chi thee Wed agreed and featured all this beauty on their site.
When it snowed in Chicago, IL during one of my brief trips, I knew that I had to photograph someone in all this beautiful winter wonderland. Diana and Darek and their gorgeous dog Dustin was the perfect family to get to explore with. They were married a few months prior, and were unable to bring the third member of their family to the big day.
”We adopted Dustin from Paws Chicago when he was just over a year old. He definitely captured our hearts from the very first time we saw him and it took only a minute to realize that he needed to come home with us that day. Now we couldn’t imagine our lives without this rambunctious, quirky, and loving dog. He is absolutely hilarious and makes us laugh every day."
At the end of the day, Diana and Darek's mantra for their life, and every adventure going forward is simply, "Fall in love with each other over and over again!"
California Wedding Day featured these two in all of their awesome glory!
Kassidy and Andrew were married at the Carondelet House in Los Angeles, Ca, and the whole night was full of beautiful unique details that I swoon over every time I think about it. To start with, Kassidy and Andrew decided to have an evening wedding, starting the actual celebration just as the sun was setting. Their ceremony also started and ended with readings from "The Awesome Book of Love," which mentions dinosaurs, which I am an absolute sucker for. I had to look it up after the fact just to be sure the amazingness I though I had heard. The whole things was also Spanish inspired, a theme that expanded into the Cuatro Caminos Arts & Flamenco group that entertained both the wedding guests during the ceremony and cocktail hour, but also taught dances. The whole evening also had a giant focus on food, with not only a pizza truck arriving at the end of the night, but homemade salsa as their wedding favors. I scattered quotes from the amazing Kassidy throughout this blog, and you’re going to love her as much as I do after you read it all!
There is nothing I love more than seeing my couples featured on amazing sites like Something Turquoise!
Elizabeth and Caleb have been married for 10 blissful years, having met in high school and just recently celebrated their 10 year anniversary. They had planned on renewing their vows as well as having photos taken to commemorate the occasion, but through unforeseen life circumstances the plans fell through and it was put off. Elizabeth is a local photographer to the Flagstaff area and Caleb is a firefighter, so their schedules allowed for us to make this occasion the something special they both deserved. Lucky for us, the morning of the 25th the Grand Canyon released that the South Rim would be open for visitors and we were greeted with snow capped peaks and 18-degree weather.
Paola & Zach dreamed of a destination wedding in Costa Rica where Paola was raised, and their dreams came incredibly true surrounded by their closest friends and family. What made the day extra special, was the random tropical storm that rolled in as quickly as it rolled out. Drenching everyone to the bone, it cleared up just in time for their ceremony to be had in front of their beach location.Read More
Mama Needs a Cocktail is such a fun blog that featured the gorgeous Megan!
I can't believe I spent my last day of 2016 with this gorgeous mama to be with her second daughter. Megan and I were so absolutely blessed with not only finding some snow, but a beautiful roaring river. The temperature was cold, and Megan battled the snow for her maternity shoot like a champion. We even were able to get a peak of sunset while shooting.
We were hoping for a snowy session up at Ice House Reservoir, but instead we were blessed with some of the best sunset light ever mixed with the gorgeous Icehouse Lake! The pine trees and mountainous background were a beautiful contrast to their High Sierra Iris & Wedding Gardens wedding that will be happening next spring. Joey and Nathan were an absolute treat to get to photograph, full of smiles and giggles the entire time and I am so excited to get celebrate their wedding in 2017.Read More
It may have taken a 6 hour drive to Sacramento, and an hour and a half drive to Truckee, Ca to find snow, but by gosh I found it! Nothing is sweeter than photographing a couples engagement photos in the same place that the proposal happened, and I was blessed with that opportunity with Michael and Marlee. After proposing at their family cabin in Truckee several months prior, we journeyed back to the same spot, and the same tree, to snuggle in the snow before their wedding in March at the Vizcaya in Sacramento, Ca.Read More
