Marlee and Michael are the definition of a beautiful love story. Girl has no interest in boy, boy thinks girl has too many tattoos, girl accepts the challenge. Fast forward in time with a whirlwind romance, and their family of three is official with an incredible wedding at the Vizcaya Sacramento in California. While we expected rain, and even tented the ceremony just in case, we were instead blessed with sunny skies; and rain that held off till everyone was inside for the party.
I can't believe I spent my last day of 2016 with this gorgeous mama to be with her second daughter. Megan and I were so absolutely blessed with not only finding some snow, but a beautiful roaring river. The temperature was cold, and Megan battled the snow for her maternity shoot like a champion. We even were able to get a peak of sunset while shooting.
I am absolutely in love with Jennifer and Ryan's wedding at the Malibou Lake Mountain Club, in California. Not only was her beaded Justin Alexander dress absolutely stunning, but this was my first Egyptian ceremony! We may have chased the sun to finish their portraits at Malibou Lake, but in the end we were able to embrace the beautiful environment. Not to mention them renting a gorgeous car for the drive from the ceremony to the reception. I can't wait to see where these two end up in their lives, and I'm so happy to have been a part of their beautiful union.
I never knew that I would get a second opportunity to savor the beauty of Muir Woods National Monument on the edge of San Francisco, Ca until Adi and Edgar mentioned that it was where they wanted their engagement photos. I was first introduced to this location by a couple last year, Alexis and Guy, and it was such a treat getting to experience the park in a different season and find new hidden gems. We were challenged by the sporadic winter light and morning breeze, but Adi and Edgar were amazing to traverse the woods with.
We were hoping for a snowy session up at Ice House Reservoir, but instead we were blessed with some of the best sunset light ever mixed with the gorgeous Icehouse Lake! The pine trees and mountainous background were a beautiful contrast to their High Sierra Iris & Wedding Gardens wedding that will be happening next spring. Joey and Nathan were an absolute treat to get to photograph, full of smiles and giggles the entire time and I am so excited to get celebrate their wedding in 2017.
It may have taken a 6 hour drive to Sacramento, and an hour and a half drive to Truckee, Ca to find snow, but by gosh I found it! Nothing is sweeter than photographing a couples engagement photos in the same place that the proposal happened, and I was blessed with that opportunity with Michael and Marlee. After proposing at their family cabin in Truckee several months prior, we journeyed back to the same spot, and the same tree, to snuggle in the snow before their wedding in March at the Vizcaya in Sacramento, Ca.
Sometimes when you arrive at a wedding venue, you are just blown away by how gorgeous the property is. This was definitely one of those times! The Gardens at Peacock Farms in Arroyo Grande, Ca was just a picture of perfection, also a working vineyard and farm! Bekah and Jay are easily two of the best people you are going to meet, not to mention they are absolutely perfect for each other. With a beautiful relationship for the last 12 years and two furry children at home, these two tying the knot was just a matter of time.
I will keep this short, even though the story of Janet and Nate is a beautiful but long one. These lovebirds were married at this exact same location 5 years ago on October 25th, 2011 at the Paradisus Punta Cana Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. They swore 5 years ago that they would be back, and they did exactly that. With a few close friends, they renewed their vows and promised their love again.
I cannot believe how fast kids grow up, and equally how fast time flies! I met the gorgeous little Miss. Ava when she was just 3 years old and while she has gotten a bit taller, her love of dancing in circles has definitely never changed. Now just 5 years old, her hair is longer, her dancing leaps a little bit bigger, and her hugs at the end of the session were pretty much heart melting.
Lisa and Sean decided to elope for their beautiful wedding, in the redwoods of Big Sur, Ca. Held at the Ventana Inn & Spa these two had their families around to see them officially tie the knot. Not only was this a perfect day, but it was also a perfect several days. The couple stayed at the Ventana Inn throughout the week, taking classes, running the trails, and truly enjoying their time together one more time before it was official. This is only in true suite of how they met; running together.
I've always heard other photographers talk about how they just wanted to take their client's children home with them, and while I do love all of my clients, I didn't want to steal one until I met Aahana. This little princess steals your heart the second you meet her, and the entire time you can't help but find her laughter contagious. At a little over 2, I'll be surprised to if she doesn't continue to win all the hearts of those she meets as she grows older.
Megan and Jonathan had an absolutely beautiful elopement with their families at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Ca on October 2nd. Meeting these two souls was no coincidence, as I was lucky enough for an introduction from their amazing friends Lindsey and Bryan. Being a photographer isn't always puppies and rainbows, and the summer months sometimes get a little insane. But it is weddings like these that remind us of why our jobs are so incredible, and make coming home to edit just all the more worth it!. From the moment of arriving, to staying late to capture the stars in the sky; every second was filled with such love shared throughout all individuals present.
